WHERE THE NAME BEGAN Our Story
Every autumn, the majestic pecan nut trees at the Yellow Tree Learning Centre catch fire in slow motion — green giving way to gold, one leaf at a time.
Then the wind arrives, and the leaves drop into a soft yellow carpet underfoot, with a glowing canopy overhead. For a few weeks the garden becomes a wonderland, and everyone who walks through it slows down in wonder and delight.
That is where our name — and our brand — was born. It is also how we think about reading: it does not arrive all at once. It turns quietly and gently, leaf by leaf, until a child begins to understand the meaning of words, decodes effortlessly and ignites the magic of reading.
ROOTED IN FAMILY Grown with Purpose
The Yellow Tree Reading Academy began with a mother's lifetime of teaching struggling readers — and a daughter's belief that those resources should reach every child, parent and educator who needs them.
Today we are a mother-and-daughter team: Annemarie, the Educational Specialist and author behind every book, course and game; and Tania, the Digital Marketer and Developer who ensures her work travels further than ever before across the world.
HOW IT BLOSSOMED Workshops to Online
For years, Annemarie watched bright, capable children fall behind in reading — not because they could not learn, but because they were not being taught in the way they needed. She spent her career teaching parents and teachers the HOW to teach children with reading difficulties and delays.
Tania has a flair for the creative. She combined forces with her mother and is assisting in hosting training workshops at the Yellow Tree Learning Centre. She makes sure trainees are spoiled with culinary delights and bottomless coffee.
These in-person training workshops blossomed into a pulsating ecosystem of specialised teacher resources, online courses and an online shop. Tania is the dynamic energy behind the digital architecture and marketing of our website - inspiring teachers and building a vibrant learning community.
